Indonesian Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyati managed to collect crypto tax revenue of $15,820,389 throughout 2022. For information, the taxation of crypto assets takes effect from May 1, 2022.
The government considers that crypto assets are developing widely and becoming trading commodities, so they are worthy of being used as tax objects.
Income tax applies to the delivery of crypto assets by sellers, services for providing electronic means for crypto asset trading transactions, as well as crypto asset transaction verification services and/or crypto asset mining group management services (mining pool).
The imposition of income tax applies to the delivery of crypto assets by sellers within the region and/or to buyers of crypto assets within the region.
Income tax is also levied for crypto transactions for other goods or services, such as for the purchase of non-fungible tokens (NFT).
