Most of the Bitcoins in the world are currently inactive or there is no transaction movement. This number of dormant coins has almost reached a new all-time high.
According to blockchain analysis firm Glassnode, the number of Bitcoins that have not moved for at least six months is 14.99 million coins, or a value of around USD 370 billion.
Glassnode revealed, The all-time high number of inactive Bitcoins is 15.02 million coins.
Blockchain company Arkham Intelligence explained this could happen because Bitcoin investors are refocusing on long-term gains. So let their Bitcoin ownership and not sell it. Thus, their Bitcoin is only stored and silent in their respective wallets.
“The Bitcoin community is clearly becoming more long-term oriented, focusing primarily on holdings,” said Arkham Intelligence CEO Miguel Morel, quoted from Yahoo Finance, Thursday (23/2/2023).
Compared to the Ethereum network which has community building tools and services, making the coin move significantly more, mostly in the pursuit of profit.
