Rapper Drake Loses $400,000 in Bitcoin Bet

Canadian rapper and singer Drake lost $400,000 when he made a Bitcoin bet. Drake is betting that YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul will beat Tommy Fury by knockout.

Had Jake Paul won, Drake could have earned $1.44 million worth of bitcoins, but in reality Fury won the battle by split decision.

Monday (27/2/2023), on February 26, 2023, in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia, the winning streak of YouTuber who became boxer Jake Paul was stopped by Tommy Fury, half brother of Mike Tyson.

The fight was close, with Fury winning by split decision (74-75, 76-73, 76-73), although Paul knocked Fury out in the eighth round. Paul had a six-match winning streak before losing to Fury on Sunday.

Prior to the fight, rap star and actor Drake placed a USD 400,000 bitcoin bet or roughly 17 BTC on Paul winning the fight by knockout.

Drake took to Instagram and showed off his bet, which was posted on crypto betting platform Stake. “Knock knock,” Drake said, in a door emoji. The screenshot that Drake shared shows that if Paul wins the fight, he can earn USD 1.44 million in bitcoins.
