The AC Milan Football Club and Bitmex Crypto Exchange Expand Their Partnership

Italian football club AC Milan has extended its partnership with BitMEX, the cryptocurrency exchange that will become the team’s first jersey sponsor in 2021.

The extended deal saw BitMEX named as a premium partner of AC Milan, in addition to its official cryptocurrency trading partner title held since 2021. The BitMEX logo has appeared on the sleeves of the AC Milan men’s and women’s team jerseys since the original deal was signed.

As well as being a sponsor, AC Milan’s collaboration with BitMex is releasing its first NFT collection last year in collaboration with design studio Fansea. Fans can pay USD 50.00 or the equivalent of IDR 750.00 (assuming an exchange rate of IDR 15,000 per US dollar) for the NFT, which displays a 3D image of a Milan jersey.

The sale of the NFT is used as a charity by the team supporting causes such as the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine and UNICEF in South Sudan.

AC Milan Chief Revenue Officer Casper Stylsvig said: “We are delighted to continue our journey with partners such as BitMEX, with whom we intend to take further steps forward on this path.

“Not only for the club’s innovation and growth, but also to support the many charitable initiatives promoted by Fondazione Milan,” Stylsvig said in a statement, quoted from Decrypt, Thursday (20/7/2023).

Local Milan media previously reported BitMEX was paying $5.6 million ($5.6 million) per year to sponsor AC Milan, although the terms of the new deal have not been disclosed.
