McDonald’s Hong Kong works with The Sandbox to provide the Metaverse Experience

McDonald’s Hong Kong collaborated with The Sandbox to create McNuggets Land, an immersive Web3 experience to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Chicken McNugget.

Reporting from CryptoNews, Tuesday (25/7/2023) this metaverse world offers users an in-depth journey through hidden factories and a tour of McNugget history. McNugget Land also offers quests and challenges for gamers looking to win The Sandbox utility tokens.

These tokens can be used to purchase virtual items and customize avatars within the platform. In addition, users from Hong Kong have the opportunity to win an exclusive Chicken McNuggets coupon for 365 days, which can be redeemed at any of the chain’s restaurants.

Users can join virtual worlds with just an email address. McDonald’s is not alone in offering its users a metaverse experience.

Some companies use their virtual world experience to offer online loyalty programs, to market their products to a younger audience.

The Sandbox co-founder and COO, Sebastien Borget expressed excitement about the collaboration with McDonald’s, believing it would propel The Sandbox to new heights and bring them closer to achieving metaverse mass adoption, which has been their ultimate goal.
